Written by: JayhlinMichele

Bright lights fill the room shining down on recording cameras and plugged-in microphones. The

reflection bounces off of the glimmer diamonds worn around Mississippi rapper Siptee. As he

sits, patiently waiting, his team keeps him up to date with any information about his upcoming meetings and places he needs to be. Their comfort with each other reflects the long relationships they share. His team has been with him for years and makes sure to keep him on his feet. With his newly released album, ‘#1 Draft Pick,’ Siptee adds to the many favored singles and features and is continuing to make a name for himself in the rap game. “ I’ve been through a lot. Personally, through the industry. It’s just been a whole process, some it definitely hasn’t been easy.”

A process it has been, the artist has been forming his sound for over 10 years. His music speaks of his life in love, pain, and as he likes to call it “lit vibes.”

Formulating his craft over the years has been a difficult journey, but his relationship with music

makes it worth wild. In his new song ‘Ghetto Superstar,’ the artist shares “So I wrote music because music is gonna touch your heart the dearest.” Music has a way of creating a bridge between one person to another For Siptee it is his

therapy. Music is his way to speak to people beyond his reach and to relate. “I want people to know that I feel what you

feel and that it’s not just you.”

With his recent signing to Def Jam Recordings, it can be said that the hard process the artist

speaks of has paid off and the journey has just begun. “We’re going too crazy right now, and I know we’re gonna keep going crazy. I definitely see me being one of the biggest.” With his authentic lyricism and catchy beats, Siptee is creating a sound that captures audiences and keeps people acquainted with the high energy and realness of rap.
