Power to the Polls

    “Power to the Polls”

In collaboration with the Texas Rising, SGA External Affairs hosted the “Power to the Polls Block Party” on Saturday 21st, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event featured a variety of vendor tables offering voter registration resources, including those of organizations such as Planned Parenthood and more. 

Attendees were also treated to diverse cuisine, ranging from West African dishes to Southern fried fish. Although attendance was light, those who came enjoyed the vibrant musical selections from DJ Thundacat. 

Members of SGA External Affairs volunteered their support, assisting with vendor coordination, media coverage, and general event operations. This event helped spread voter education for the community and the students of  Texas Southern University. We welcome and hope to see more events like this shortly as election season is upon.
